Clarins Everlasting Cushion Foundation SPF50 Review

Clarins Everlasting Cushion Foundation SPF50 PA+++

According to Clarins’ website, “This moisture- rich, long-wearing cushion foundation delivers 24 hours of non-stop hydration* for a glowy, flawless finish. Ultra-fine texture allows skin to breathe while instantly concealing imperfections. Buildable, non-transfer formula in a convenient compact for on the go use. Helps protect skin’s beauty with Clarins’ Anti-Pollution Complex and SPF 50”. It comes with six shades: 103 Ivory, 105 Nude, 107 Beige, 108 Sand, 110 Honey, and 112 Amber. Here are the shade swatches from Clarins’ website:

lightmedium

I have the shade 103 Ivory, as you can see from my shade comparison with my MAC Studio Fix Fluid’s NC15 (my usual shade), it’s a shade too light. I think the 105 Nude would be a better fit for my skin tone:

As for wear tests, I did it with 3 different tools; all without primer and powder because I wanted to see how it wore without them.

Day 1 – Applied with a BeautyBlender:

At 7:30am, I applied 2 layers of the cushion foundation. It gave light with build-able to light-medium coverage. Looked natural, skin-like finish. Was not able to cover blemish, but balanced skin tone out, still saw tiny bit of my redness on my cheek. I also had a little bronzer and highlighter on.

At 11:30am, still looked pretty good, natural with healthy glow. Just a tiny bit oily around the nose if I looked extremely close to the mirror.

At 5:30pm, it appeared a little bit oilier, but still looked very natural and balance from a distance. The shade did not oxidase on me; it faded out evenly on my skin by the day of the day. It did not cause me breakout.

Day 2 – Applied with a Buffing Brush:

At 8:00am, using a Buffing Brush gave a tiny bit more coverage. I applied 2 layers and it covered most redness and builder up to a medium coverage. I find using a brush gave a more semi-matte finish look, less glowy as the look the BeautyBlender gave. It looked pore-less, but natural and skin-like.

At 11:00am, it appeared oilier than Day 1 on my t-zone area. Since I had a meeting to go to, so I lightly blotted off the oil with translucent power, it made it look matte and pore-less again.

At 4:00pm, I felt a little greasy around my nose, so I lightly blotted it off with tissue paper, it also removed most of my makeup, with not much foundation left. I was able to see my redness and pores. Perhaps heavier coverage doesn’t stay longer for this product. I have to re-apply because of dinner plan; and below is the picture I took after I applied a thin layer with the applicator this foundation came with.

Day 3 – Applied with the Cushion Applicator:

At 10:00am, I applied with 2 layers with the Cushion Applicator; it gave my skin a natural finish with medium coverage. It blurred my pores and covered the redness on my cheek.

At 3:00pm, it still looked quite natural, not overly oily, and no cake-up.

At 8:00pm, surprisingly it still looked somewhat decent, the Foundation fades evenly. It did not make feel heavy at all. Not much Bronzer/highlighter left though. I was too tired, so I went to wash off and called it a night.

Overall, I do recommend this cushion if you want a quick tint to balance out your skin tone, something with high SPF and PA coverage. I would avoid if you have oily skin, because it can be very oily throughout the day. It would look better if you set with a powder and perhaps a setting pray on top as well.

List of my Foundation Shades

Here’s the List of my Foundation Shades for your Shade-Match reference. I will keep adding the shades as I try out new products, so please check back later for more.

Skin tone: My face has neutral undertone while my neck and the rest of the body has light yellow. My face is also naturally one (1) shade lighter than my neck. I tend to pick the shade that has warm/yellow/golden undertone that’s closest to my skin tone, so it matches the rest of my body.

I wear MAC Cosmetics’ MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in shade NC15.

Skin Type: I have mostly Normal skin; sometimes dehydrated if I don’t drink enough water or lack of sleep.
